What a special day for the Kozak's!!

We went to Georgetown for the night last weekend to celebrate a late family birthday for Cooper and an early family birthday with Rory at PawPaw and Carlene's! It was fun! Those two are quite little "hams!" On Sunday we went to church with the Hammerlun side and witnessed sweet Addie and Aaron get babtized followed by a yummy brunch at Nana and Papa J's! It was a special day and a fun overnight trip! :)

*And thank you to Auntie Ray Ray for taking Rory to the park to feed the duck's while we were at Church! She had fun fun!!

Watched Lauren for two weeks...taking/picking up from school. Taking to activities...and she had dinner with us too. It was fun with 3 kiddos...but showed me I DO have patience. Sorry so late with the blog...every time I logged on it wouldn't let me post pics...but it magically fixed overnight I guess. We have had a BUSY few weeks! Will post more entries later but here are a few random pics I've taken. :)

Brody Kruger

Brody is my sister's (Reagan and Fuller) nephew. Here is an entry from his other Aunt, Mindi.

 

 

Some of you may or may not know my twin sister, Cindi, had a little boy a couple years ago. Brody was born 5 weeks premature, the doctors had little hope that he would live due to his undeveloped kidneys and the consequences that followed. At the hospital the entire family was basically told that he wasn’t going to survive and we needed to make the decision as to when we wanted to remove him from the oxygen. That meeting will forever be sketched in my memory as one of the hardest things I have had to endure … and it wasn’t even my own child. We all knew Brody was a fighter and wasn’t convinced that his time on Earth was complete. Brody will be 3 years old this July. . He undergoes dialysis every night for 12 hours straight plus all the other medications and appointments daily. He is now big enough to undergo a transplant, which will be provided by his father, Jon. My sister and her family have been very blessed with the help and support thus far, but needs a lot more. Please read, forward, donate and just share his story with family and friends

Saving Transplant

Georgetown, Tx – With the cost of a transplant often exceeding $500,000, many transplant families are unable to shoulder the financial burden of such a procedure. The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) is a national charity dedicated to organizing and guiding communities in raising funds for transplant-related expenses. In Georgetown, volunteers are raising funds for COTA in honor of transplant patients like local toddler, Brody Kruger.

Brody is the son on Jon and Cindi Kruger. Born on July 7^th, 2010, Brody was diagnosed with ESRD (End Stage Renal Disease). The doctors at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston have recommended a life-saving kidney transplant. An estimated $50,000 is being raised by Georgetown volunteers. Volunteers are needed to assist with fundraising activities that will help with transplant-related expenses. Brody’s family has asked for assistance from the Children’s Organ Transplant Association. The organization’s priority is to assure that no child or young adult is denied a transplant or excluded from a transplant waiting list due to lack of funds. One hundred percent of all funds raised are used for patient’s transplant-related expenses.

We had a wonderful Christmas in Azle on Sunday night! Nana always makes it a wonderful/special time! Thank you Nana and Papa for a GREAT Christmas!

A Little Bit about Christmas on Grant Park Ave..

I hardly have anytime to write anymore...so I just put up pics usually in the early morning before Miss Rory and Rylee Roo are both awake. Right now Rylee is napping and Greg and Rory are at the store getting ingredients to make a Black Eyed Pea Chili on this New Years Day! Happy New Year by the way! We celebrated unloading and putting away all our wonderful gifts from Christmas with Nana and Papa and hitting the hay by 9pm. :) So here is a belated entry about Christmas on Grant Park Avenue...

My little brother arrived the Friday before Christmas...of course as soon as he arrived I put him in charge of the children while I cleaned for the guests coming the following day. I will tell you one of the sweetest sounds was seeing/watching my brother play with Rory in her room on the video camera. I could here both of them laughing through the walls and could hear pictures being shaken from the wall. I turned on the monitor and he was just throwing a ball up in the air and hitting random things in her room. She was laughing so hard. Uncle Buddy has a way/bond with his nieces and nephew! He will make a great DAD. (first we have to find him a wife) We had a delicious dinner of Tortellini soup that night! Saturday...all the guests arrived and we had a great time. We went to Cousin Tori's for lunch one day...Buddy/Fuller cooked Chili one night! The boys were able to go duck hunting on Christmas Eve Morning! A few highlights of my Christmas.....

*Holding Rylee in my arms at Christmas Eve Service...with my wonderful Husband and Rory next to us...as Rory sang "Away in a manger."

*Buddy, Mere, Cooper, Jamie, and I delivered meals to the Seniors Christmas Lunch. Of Course..Jamie,Mere, and I were in tears. This has been such a wonderful blessing in my life and I was so glad to share it with them. The real meaning of Christmas....love as He loved!

*When Greg left to get Dish washing soap at 10pm at night and left Uncle Buddy and Uncle Fuller in charge of Rylee. I was asleep and heard her crying...I come out and Buddy is rocking her and said, "Glad your up..I think IT's hungry!"

With all but a few sibling spats, we survived another Christmas on Grant Park Ave! Hosting was a lot of work! But we loved having everyone under one roof! Love you all!!  Happy Birthday to the Baby Jesus! Everytime I look into my little girls' faces I am reminded of how good he has been to Greg and I. :) Here is to a great 2013!!
