It was a great morning....Rory and I went over to Amanda's neighborhood for an Easter Egg Hunt. Max, Misty, Tim, Henry, and Moma Taylor also joined us. Afterwards we all went to eat lunch in Roanoke (Bayou Jacks) and Greg met us there after work. :) Rory loved BG (Moma Taylor) I think she reminded her of her Mimi/Nana. :) The kids had a great time!! Bayou Jacks is a great place for kids...we sat on the patio and they enjoyed watching the choo choo's drive by!

Reagan's Speech at Nana's Funeral

Muriel was known to me as Nana, and to me my Nana was a woman of poise and grace. Not only was she a woman, but she was the definition of a lady. As a preachers wife there are a lot of eyes on you to be a good role model, and a role model she was. She was a smart and educated woman, she was a professor and she loved her career, ironically... she was a professor of speech, so she is probably looking down on me and my shaky voice with embarrassment, so sorry about that Nana . She was a wonderful grandmother to all her seven grandkids. My family was fortunate enough to live close to her and granddad so we got to spend a lot of time with them growing up. I come from a family of 4 siblings and sometimes we didn't get as much one on one attention as each of us would have liked, so my mom would take us to nana and granddads for the night. This was always such a joy, we were spoiled with attention and of course food! With the three staple items
1. Red jello
2. Pickles
3. and Granddads homemade biscuits that we made bright and early while Nana was still sleeping, always being sure to make a tiny little biscuit for Nana. I felt so special at their home and with them. She was a loving and caring mother to my mom.... and from what she's told me Nana would always listen and support her without criticism or judgment, much like a lady of God. She was a wonderful wife , and to me her and my Granddad had an everlasting love, a love that one could only aspire to have, and even though he tried every year at the mall to steal her away, it was a love even Santa Clause couldn't break.I know she had a wonderful life that she would look back on and say with great joy.
" how bout that!"

You are with Grandad now Nana y'all are back together where y'all belong and where y'all will be for eternity. You will be missed we love you.

Muriel Vann Burress June 3, 1920 - March 12, 2012

My Nana passed away last Monday. As with most TRUE LOVE stories....my grandfather passed away in 2004 and Nana slowly went down hill afterwards. They truly were soulmates and they adored each other and were smitten with one another till death parted them. She was an amazing woman...and we were so lucky to grow up with her living only 20 minutes away. She went everywhere with us (my mom needed all the help she could get with 4 kids) and I have so many fond memories of her. One of them is her kissing the mall Santa on the lips one year at Highland Mall. And then she went in for a second kiss and said, "Well How Bout That!" She was the classiest lady I will ever know and she was always happy and never had an ill word for anyone. She lived her life to the fullest and glorified God in everything she did. She was the perfect example of a woman of GOD and she will forever be in my heart. I love you Nana!

Reagan spoke at the funeral on behalf of all of us grandkids and her speech was amazing. It brought us back to our childhood Nana...she is emailing it to me today and I will post it.
This is when Rory and I went to see her about a year ago....she was awake and alert. However, when we saw her a few times after this pic she wouldn't open her eyes for us. She is now at peace in heaven with the love of her life.

my beautiful grandmother

ADDISON QUINN KOZAK---makes her debut! :)

Rory doing her "homework" with Cousin Cooper...i had to take a phone call outside so I put PawPaw in charge for about 7 minutes. When I left them they were like this and when I came back in my dad had already seperated them. Ha Ha. Rory had been moved to the breakfast nook to complete her "homework". I think he may of been having flashbacks. ha ha! DOUBLE TROUBLE!

CHEERIOS FOR BREAKFAST!

Auntie Linds was nice enough to share some of her Fruit Loops with Rory!

:) Addison is such a pretty little baby!!

Kisses for Addison...this really choked me up...ADORABLE!! :)

Cousins!!

The new family of Three! :)

trying to get a closer look at Addison :)

I was not feeling good later that afternoon...and I may of called Auntie Reagan crying because my sweet angel would not take a nap and I really needeed to lay down. Thankfully she came right over and her and Carlene entertained her for a couple hours. So I could rest. It is very hard without Daddy around. :)

Rory and I went to Georgetown on Monday to help take care of my nephew for a few days. What a sweet surprise when Baby Addison was born while we were in town. Rory and I made a trip to the hospital to visit Aunt Linds, Uncle Aaron, and Baby Addison. Rory and I were both quite smitten and Rory couldn't get enough of her new cousin. We are so blessed and thankful another new little one has joined our family! Congrats Aaron and Linds! Love you guys! God is GOOD!

ALWAYS

If you know me well...you know I am a worry wart...when I sing this song I feel at peace and try to remember HE is in control ALWAYS!!!! Just thought I would share...it was a special treat to hear David Gentiles sing it at our church this morning. www.davidgentiles.net

ALWAYS

My foes are many, they rise against me
But I will hold my ground
I will not fear the war, I will not fear the storm
My help is on the way, my help is on the way
Oh, my God, He will not delay
My refuge and strength always
I will not fear, His promise is true
My God will come through always, always
Troubles surround me, chaos abounding
My soul will rest in You
I will not fear the war, I will not fear the storm
My help is on the way, my help is on the way
Oh, my God, He will not delay
My refuge and strength always
I will not fear, His promise is true
My God will come through always, always
I lift my eyes up, my help comes from the Lord
I lift my eyes up, my help comes from the Lord
I lift my eyes up, my help comes from the Lord
I lift my eyes up, my help comes from the Lord
From You Lord, from You Lord
Oh, my God, He will not delay
My refuge and strength always
I will not fear, His promise is true
My God will come through always, always
Oh, my God, He will not delay
My refuge and strength always, always
