a few minutes after Rory was born

testing out her swing :)

her hearing test...she passed!

Febuary 20th....Rory's Birthday!!

i promise I will post pictures soon!! It has been a loooonnngg week. Rory is the most amazing thing in the world. I want to cry everytime i look at her i am overcome with such joy and emotions. We were having trouble getting her to eat....the nurses said she had the sucking habits of a premie and was not eating. She was 6.8lbs when she was born....6.2lbs the following day...and then 5.14 lbs the day after that. It was so frusturating....our baby was just melting away. We were released from the hospital on Monday and went back to the hospital on Tuesday (where she weighed 5.14lbs....we went back again on Wednesday and she weighed 6lbs.....YEAH...they told us to come back to the hospital today....greg and my mom are at the hospital now.....i am praying she has gained some more weight) Also her billy count has been high so they are checking that again today as well. As for why i am not at the hospital checkup appointment....i am on bedrest pretty much. I woke up Wednesday with a horrible headache....it went away that evening but then returned early Thursday morning. It was the worst pain i have ever felt....childbirth was nothing compared to this. Turns out i have PDPH. (post dural puncture headache) My spine was nicked during the epidural and there was a leak. The only relief was to lay down. We went to the emergency room yesterday and I received a blood patch in my spine. I was literally crying and lying on the waiting room floor in pain. Once the blood patch was inserted there was immediate relief. However....no pain meds when this was inserted into my spine so that was no bueno....but it actually hurt less then the headache. So now I can't lift anything or bend down to pick anything up....this includes miss rory. She must be placed into my arms....:( I am so ready for Rory and I to be healthy so I can really enjoy and give Rory so much Mommy love.

Thank God for my Mom and Greg who have been amazing. Waiting on Rory and I hand and foot. I don't know how people do it without any help. They have been amazing!!!!

Greg just texted and she weighs 6.1 lbs.....yeah for weight gain!!! Will post pictures soon!

9 DAYS

So Friday will be my last day at Primrose until mid April. I was planning on working till I went into Labor however....when we had our Valentine's Party on Monday and I was bending down every 2 seconds to distribute valentine cards and put them into bags I realized my back is killing me and I can't do this much longer. Therefore, I asked my wonderful bosses if I could make my last day Friday and they said of course. I will miss my kiddos very much and hope they don't forget me. A second grader that I used to take to school when I drove the bus asked me, "Are you going to go back to normal after your baby?" I said, "Do you mean will I be skinny again?" She said, "Yes." I said, "Lord I hope so." I made it 39 weeks of work and frankly I can't believe i did it. Thank you to my wonderful assistant, Mrs. Kelli, for everything. I had a sonogram today and everything looks great!!! Rory has plenty of fluids, but she hasn't dropped yet. The sonogram tech said she has lots of fat on her tummy.....i guess the Boyd gut has been passed down again!! Estimated weight is 6.7 lbs. I will go on Monday and Dr. Vaughan will check for dilation etc. I can't believe we are in the single digits now! 9 days more or less! COME ON RORY WE CAN'T WAIT TO MEET YOU SWEET BABY GIRL!

SNOW DAYS!!!

Toby seeking refuge under the chair....

So much snow....i am getting cabin fever. School was cancelled yesterday so we have a 3 day weekend! Woohoo!!! Greg still had to go into work to take care of snow fallen trees etc.....but we stayed in and snuggled with the doggies and watched the opening ceremony of the Olympics last night! We LOVE THE OLYMPICS!! Just got back from getting a pedi.....i don't want to be worried about my ugly feet when I hit those stirups. My doctors appointment for Friday was cancelled due to the weather....i call Monday to reschedule. Greg and I are going to go out to eat either today or tommorrow and see the movie Valentine's Day! Happy Valentine's Day to everyone....XOXO! I am so uncomfortable and there is so much pressure and weight....it feels like a huge brick is pressing down on my pelvis....no it is just a 6lb baby girl. :) Ready and anxious for her arrival. Layla loved all the snow....Toby not so much. Stay WARM!

20 DAYS

Yes...i am counting the days. :) My little sis came to visit greg and I this weekend. She made it in time to come to our doctor's appointment on Friday and got see Baby Rory. There were lots of ohhhs and aaahhhs from Auntie Reagan. We have had lots of sonograms so they are kind of old news for greg and I. So it is fun when a first timer gets to experience them. She weighs 6.2 lbs...she gained half a lb in 1 week and hardly has any room to move around now. Dr. Vaughan started checking me for dilation and nothing is going on down there yet. I am going to do a lot of walking this week so hopefully by this coming friday i am dilated just a little. She hasnt dropped yet and her legs are kicking me in the lungs. I am still sleeping pretty good except I had some of Reagans spicy pasta from Cheescake Factory on Friday and i woke up Friday night with some severe acid relfex and heartburn.vomiting and all. I think I will be staying away from spicy food till after she arrives. Reagan and I went to see Dear John yesterday and then greg cooked chili last night for us and we watched Zombieland. Both good movies. We were all in bed by 8pm....it was great!!!!

I usually hate going to the grocery store....but today I felt the need to have a full fridge and pantry maybe it is the nesting??? I went to the store and had an overflowing grocery cart. i feel very satisfied looking in my pantry now. :)

Gregory and I will be watching the super bowl tonight with our doggies....GO SAINTS!!!!

Thank you to PawPaw and Carlene for the breast pump!!!! And for Memme's beautiful curtains!!We have everything we need now for Baby Rory.

oh yes....when Reagan left today she said, " the next time I see you Baby Rory will be here." So hard to believe....these last nine months went so slow but so fast...if that makes any sense!
