Movie Experience Round 2

With it being HOT HOT HOT, I thought I would try the movie theatre trip again. I took her to The Lion King several months back and she lasted a good 30 minutes...so I assumed this time would go better given her age. BOY...was I wrong. A new cinemark movie opened down the street from us and I had a FREE POPCORN and FREE DRINK coupon...i love a good coupon! So I thought let's do this. Rory loves Popcorn! Side note: Rory is terrified of Zebras. Don't ask me why...but she saw them at the zoo and was hysterical. If you mention the word zebra or sees a zebra she makes a "whimper" sound and usually says "zebra bye bye."

So we enter the dark/loud theatre just in time for the movie to start (perfect timing I thought..we missed the previews so more "sitting" time for the actual movie) Well...she refuses to walk in the theatre...so I pick her up (I am also carrying a large purse that fits a potty seat, popcorn, drink, her leash, and the booster seat for the chair) Needless to say I left a large trail of popcorn behind and dropped the booster seat halfway to our seats. Good times!  I strategically sit at the very back of the theatre close to the wall...to block her in if she decided to escape. We make it to the seat and she is straddling me with her head/eyes facing the back of the theatre...whimpering. She finally turns around and what is the first thing she sees...A ZEBRA. (If you have seen Madagascar the first few minutes the lion is having a nightmare where all the animals turn into scary old animals) The picture is a close up of a ZEBRA that has aged badly. Rory begins screaming, "No movies! No movies! Mommy's car! Mommy's car!" I tried to calm her down...but no can do...she keeps repeating this phrase. I collect our things...and when we are half way down the aisle she says "Popcorn!" I was thinking she is just like a Boyd..scared for her life but still thinking about food.lol. We left the theatre and enjoyed the popcorn while watching Barney at home.

I think we will wait for our next movie experience when she turns 3. I have to say I was laughing during this trip...she was just so cute...and is it bad I like when she is scared and clings to her mama. :)

Auntie Reagan missed us so much she decided to follow us to Fort Worth and came to visit this weekend! We had lots of fun at Let's Jump, a playdate with Maddie and Amanda, a trip to the movies (Seeking a Friend for the End of the World....i give it a B-...I think Reagan gave it an F), and Greg grilled out for us on Saturday night! We love having Auntie Ray Ray come visit...she HELPS me so much with our little busy bee. We love you Ray Ray!

My mom bought me a Let's Jump Summer Pass...i went a few weeks ago and with my ever large belly it was VERY difficult keeping up with Rory...yes I had even attempted the slides. My stomach was cramping for a few hours after that visit...so I decided no more Let's Jump unless I had some company! I plopped my behind on a bench and watched as Reagan and Rory ran around the whole place...it was so nice and Rory had so much fun with her Auntie! Again...thank you Ray Ray!

FYI---if you come to visit us in the next few months...I will convince you to go to Let's Jump. lol.

Family Week in Gtown/Austin

Greg went back to Fort Worth on Sunday and Rory and I decided to stay and spend the week in Gtown for some family time. (With this summer heat poor hubby has been working 5am-7pm almost every night....so Rory and I decided to have a mini vacation) We spend a couple extra days at PawPaw and Carlene's and did lots of swimming...we also hung out with Auntie Reagan, Uncle Fo-Fo, Uncle Buddy, Auntie Merezie, and Cousin Coopie! Thank you Dad,Carlene, Mom, and Danny Boy for everything. Then we spent a few days in Austin with Mimi and Danny Boy! It was sooo much fun! I did not have a car so thank you to EVERYONE who helped take out/put in the car seat. It was not a small task. And for toting Rory and I around across town..including Nana V who drove us back to Fort Worth on Thursday!! Love you all!

Lakeline Mall...riding all the rides and being spoiled by Mimi at the Disney Store! She now has Tinkerbell Pajamas that she wants to wear 24/7. We had a meltdown when I finally was able to get them in the washing machine after a few days! Oh 2 year olds and their minds of their own!

We will be in Georgetown this weekend for Father's Day and sadly are missing Maddie's 3rd Birthday Party. We decided to take her out to lunch to celebrate today! :) Rory and I picked Maddie up from school at 10am and then headed to Barnes and Noble so the girls could each pick out a book. They were so precious..holding hands going up and down the elevator. "Discussing.." their book selections...ADORABLE. We then went to Red Robin for lunch!! It was a great morning with two special girls.

* This little outing prepared me for what life will be like with two. I am not going to lie I am a little scared. The girls were great...but just a lot more extras...example: taking two to the bathroom, washing two sets of hands, keeping two next to you at all times, helping two with their lunches. They did wonderful so I can't complain...Love you two sweet girls!

We had a great weekend in Azle! Friday started off with Nana, Linds, and Papa J keeping Rory overnight so Greg and I could have a date night! Dinner and a Movie...we went to see "What to Expect When Your Expecting." So cute!! A lot better then I thought it would be. I highly recommend it! Greg and I laughed a bunch...lots of moments we could relate too! Saturday we spend the day swimming, eating, reading (me), wake boarding/jet ski (Greg), and lots of family time! It was a great weekend!! Thanks for everything Nana and Papa J!
