We filled our reward Jar and for the most part it's working great! So off to Barnes and Noble we went!
Rory is really into the movie CARS since that is her best buddy Zane's favorite movie. She knows all the names of the characters but has never seen the movie..so of course she saw a "Little Golden Book : CARS 2" that is the book she had to have. :) P.S Since then we borrowed CARS from Kelli..she loves the racing scenes. :)

We went to visit Grandma and Grandpa Mullins in Denton on Monday. It was a great trip! And delicious food was cooked by Grandma....RIBS, DEVILED EGGS, BAKED BEANS, and a yummy strawberry dessert. We love going to Grandma and Grandpa's! They welcome our crazy bunch with open arms...and lots of laughter :)

Swimming Lessons

Well the day finally came for swimming lessons. I was a bit (who am I kidding..extremely) anxious about this day since for the last month since her swim "trial" she has been saying "No swimming lessons!" with a little quiver in her voice. I kept saying how her "friends" were going to be there with her. Well...she sure surprised me when she walked in ready to go! SHE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT AND DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE. Sorry for the IPHONE pics...but she was so cute. There are two other little boys in her swim class and her teacher Ms. Jayci is a college girl home for the summer. (which helps I think) The lady who did her trial was an older lady...I think younger kids relate more to younger people when it comes to doing something they don't want to do. There was a little boy who started crying half way through the lesson. Rory kept patting him on the back saying, "It's okay. It's okay." I'm not going to lie...I may of shed a couple tears in that pool waiting room. I WAS SO PROUD OF MY MUNCHKIN.  She can't wait to go back next week!

After my birthday lunch with Greg...I met Amanda at the movies (The Great Gatsby...loved it) And loved spending the afternoon with my BFF. After the movies, as soon as I walked in the door I was serenaded by these three and we shared some yummy cupcakes. It was the best gift of all my sweet angels singing the birthday song. :)

We drove down for the night on Saturday to celebrate a belated mother's day with Mimi and the May/June Birthday's at my Dad's. It was lots of fun! And of course the girls love playing with their cousin cooper! :) We had a yummy steak and potato dinner and lots of pool time! :) Rory and Daddy also took a trip to the park with Nana and Papa J too! We saw all the grandparents in just one visit...that's a record. :) Thank you Dad and Carlene for hosting such a wonderful bday celebration! :)

The Wednesday Morning Conversation...

Rory has to go to the bathroom.

I open the guest bathrom door and Rory proceeds to go to the bathroom.

I step away to change Rylee's diaper.

A few moments later...I hear the pitter patter of little feet.

Lauren: "She has poop on her bum!!!"

Me: "Rory come back here!"

Lauren: "She is sitting on the blanket on the couch!"

Me: "Rory!"

Rory runs back to Rylee's room...I clean her up.

I shout back to Lauren..."Put the blanket in the laundry room, please!"

Rory runs back out.."Layla is eating my poop!" (She was really just sniffing the blanket!)

Start load of laundry...load the girls up in the car and happily drop off at school. :)

This Mama is getting SLEEP for Mother's Day....

First off...Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful Mom's in my life and especially to my own Mom. I only have two sweet angels so I don't know how you did it with four....and WOW what a wonderful childhood we had...love you Mom!

On that note....We have not been sleeping so much at the Hammerlun House. Rylee has severe acid reflex and it has become WORSE since introducing solids the past month. She wakes up crying every hour or two and when she is sleeping she is moaning and tossing and turning like she is very uncomfortable...it is heartbreaking. AND MAMA IS ABOUT TO LOOSE IT WITH NO SLEEP!!!

Rylee had her 6 month appointment on Thursday had a round of shots and has had fever for the last couple days on top of her Reflex so it has not been fun!! Thankfully we were prescribed a medicine (Nizatidine) that she takes 30 minutes before she eats and we should start seeing relief for her within the week. She is the happiest baby during the day but as soon as she is laying flat in her crib for more then an hr she becomes a fussy little girl that is inconsolable.

At first I thought she just wanted her Mama, but even I have a very hard time calming her down. So I know now she is in pain.

So today...Church (one of my favorite services of the year is the Mother's Day Service),and a girl's lunch with Aunt JJ and then Greg is taking the girls for the afternoon so I can sleep more then a 2 hr stretch....THE BEST GIFT EVER!! :) Love you Honey!!!

I don't know how this sweet little thing is SO happy during the day with the rough nights she has! I can't imagine how even more happy she would be with a good night's rest! :) Love this sweet thing!!

*Rory is still sleeping 730pm- 630am every night..(except for the rare occasion where she wakes up at 2am and wants to talk your ear off...unfortunately this happened to Greg the other night...he went to check on her and the talking began "Is it breakfast time? I want toast. Where is my Nemo? Is that a spider on the wall?" ) and she is a deep sleeper so she never wakes up when Rylee is crying!! Thankfully!

A Reward System....

While the 2's for Rory were all about getting into things....the 3's are all about being sassy and not doing things we are supposed to be doing. So I have made a reward system. (Amanda shared this with me from something she found on Pinterest.) 

Jars:
1) Good day at school. (good drop off/ pick up)
2) Feed the dogs.
3) Sweet Sister. (sharing toys with Rylee..who is on the verge of crawling and then its going to be a whole different ball game with the toys)
4) Cleaning room/pick up toys
5) LISTENING
6) Staying at the table till dinner/lunch/breakfast is over.
7) Brush Teeth. (I should say...listening when getting ready for bed.)

For each task she completes or we see her completing....she gets to take a few pieces from that specific mason jar and put them in the empty mason jar. When the empty Mason Jar is filled she gets to take a trip to BARNES AND NOBLE and pick out a book. This idea sounds so good in theory...I will let you know how it works out. :)

Happy Birthday to my wonderful Hubby and Amazing Daddy!! We celebrated with a family bday at home...and lunch at On the Border...Thank you Jamie for watching Rory. Rylee Roo joined us on our birthday date...she slept half the time and the rest of the time she sat on my lap and smiled at everybody. SWEET GIRL!! (That is a snicker's Ice cream cake and it was YUMMY!) We topped the day off by a stroller/wagon ride around the neighborhood. :)

 SUMMER TIME IS ALMOST HERE!!

 And this is why her knees are always bruised...she does knee dives in the bathtub too! :)
